Over the River and Through the Snow...

The time has finally come! I had a couple of hours today between my two jobs, so I decided to go ahead and blog about our little Valentine's getaway! We went to the fabulous town of Branson, MO! If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it! It has a little bit of everything...shopping, shows, water parks, amusement parks, museums, etc. We stayed there two nights and did a little bit of everything. We ate some amazing food, saw a comedy show, shopped until we dropped, and went to an indoor water park. My hubby was NOT excited about the indoor water park, but it turned out wonderful! It was right next door to our hotel and had two slides, a lazy river, and several hot tubs. It was SO fun to be inside playing in the water when it was snowing and 20 degrees outside! : ) If you don't want picture overload, just skip to the very bottom. Overload commencing now:

The roads on the way to Branson.

We made it!

Testing my passion factor? Haha! (Yes, we really did it.)

The next morning, we ate at this amazing little restaurant for breakfast!

Justin's breakfast!

My breakfast...just look at those amazing biscuits!

Stuffed like turkeys.

Shopping at Branson Landing.

Big Cedar Lodge...so beautiful.

Black light golfing.

The morning that we were heading home, we woke up to this!

We were thrilled!! 5-6 inches of snow!

Snowball fight.

"It's...so...cold." Haha!

Stopping at Steak 'n Shake on the way home. Our first time eating there.
Can I just say...YUMMMMM!! : )

The roads on the way home.

Hands at 10 and 2.

This looks safe. Notice the tire tracks. Yikes.

Yes, that would be MY husband. Haha.

Snow ball throw success.

Driving home.

7 hours to get to Branson, 12 hours to get home. Oh snow.

All in all, it was a wonderful getaway. Other than it taking double the time to drive home, we had a blast. I really think we stopped at 7-8 gas stations on the way home. Driving 30 miles an hour makes me have to pee a lot! Haha! We are just thankful that God kept us safe! We definitely plan to have getaways more often, especially before we have kids! Going on vacation with the one you love is just icing on the cake of marriage! : )

I'm off to work again! Hope y'all have had a great day!

Love, love!

I've been wanting to take a little trip to Branson! I went once as a kid and had so much fun, and I think it'd be such a nice trip for David and I now. I'll have to show him this post!

I keep hearing rumblings about indoor water parks and I think I need to be at one right now... preferably with a cake pop in hand (or cake ball)

When I visited my bestie in Cincinnati, we went to Steak n Shake every night. People accused me of causing them to get fat... psshhh no chance.

What did you score on the love machine?!

I went to Branson about 3 summers ago with my aunt/uncle/cousin! We stayed at Big Cedar! So much fun! They go every year, (they live in Arkansas). I loved the lazy river and drinking pina coladas by the pool:-) Glad you guys got some time away; now I'm super jealous:-) xoxo

Looks like a great trip! I was tentatively planning a trip to Branson a few years back for a family reunion but it got cancelled. Looks like a nice place!

Also, my first job was waitressing at a Steak 'N Shake in Florida when I was 16. I have eaten more S'NS than one should probably eat in a lifetime, but I love it! We don't have them in NYC and I miss it. :)

Branson is cool! I live about 1 1/2 hrs from there. If you ever come in the summer, you should go to Silver Dollar City (or as we affectionately call it, Steal Your Dollar City... LOL) But the landing is awesome!

We live about 45 minutes from Branson and it's a great day trip for us! Fun shopping & great food...doesn't get much better! I agree, SDC is so much fun in the summertime...you should check it out next time!

And girl, Steak & Shake is our best friend! I don't think we'd survive without it!

That sounds like so much fun! As soon as I read this, I had a sudden itch to go to an indoor water park! That just sound SO perfect for this cold weather :-) The only problem is, we do have a two month old who can't really take part in those activities. So do enjoy your time together before those cute kiddos come along :)
