After Session

Remember when I talked about our engagement session and how HOT it was??

Well, after that steamy day, I decided that I just could not handle doing a bridal session before the wedding. It was just way too hot and I wanted an outside session, not an inside session. Just my personal preference. I talked to my photographer about it and he said a lot of brides skip bridals and do an after session. It has two major bonuses: 1) the groom can come 2) no need to worry about getting the dress dirty.

So, on Monday, my hubby and I did an after session with our amazing photographer, Brandon O'Neal! The initial plan wasn't to wait so long after the wedding, but we had to cancel once because of the weather. The day ended up being perfect. It sprinkled early in the morning and cooled off the day. By the time we shot pictures, it was sunny and 70 degrees. It was a truly gorgeous day. The wind was a little bit crazy, but we managed with it and (hopefully) got some great pictures.

We shot downtown along the river in a gorgeous little park with fountains and flowers.

Looking towards the river. The steel tulips haven't bloomed just yet. ; )

My parents were able to drive in and come to the pictures, as was my grandma. It was so fun having them there with us. It definitely made the atmosphere more fun and carefree.

There may have been balloons involved.

My silk bouquet. I want to be buried with it. Haha.

My adorable groom...with his boots on.

J was such a good sport about having to take pictures again. He didn't whine or gripe at all. Seeing him all dressed up just melted my heart into a million pieces. We actually had several people in the park come up to us and say congratulations. It was so cute...it was like the wedding day all over again. : )

Putting my dress back on was amazing. I haven't had it on since the wedding day and it made me relive our beautiful day all over. What is it about a wedding dress that just makes you feel so amazing?? Not to mention, I was SO glad that it still fit.

I can't wait to see the pictures. Y'all know that I will share!

Have a great weekend!

Love, love!

PS: All pictures above were taken by my precious daddy. Thanks, dad!

How unbelievably adorable are you???? I've heard of couples doing this & I think I am definitely going to do this after session as well....if I ever get married ;) It must have be SO nice to have your family there and to semi relive the experience. That is so special! Those Silk flowers look AMAZING. I thought they were real! Did you get a replica made of silk ones from your actual Wedding day or did you decide from the start to have silk? They are simply stunning! I would want to be buried with them too!!

You looks gorgeous in your dress again. Such a beautiful style and perfect for you!! I CANNOT wait to see the photos!!! Soon I hope!! I love balloons in shoots. I have friends that used a heart shaped balloon for their wedding photos and it was gorgeous & so fun. Eeee! I can't wait to see yours!! Happy Friday friend! xoxo

I absolutely want to do this because I know I will be obsessed with my dress and will want to wear it again.

Think people will still be doing bridal portraits in 2035 when I get married?

I don't know what it is about wedding dresses, but I wore mine two other times for photos afterward. I trashed it once and it survived, so I put it back on for another shoot!
