We don't/can't always understand or comprehend the things of this world.
Things happen beyond our control, despite our attempts, against our wishes.
The friends who lose a baby, the parent who succumbs to cancer, the best friend who betrays you, the teenager who dies in a car wreck, the grandparent who develops Alzheimer's, the child who commits suicide due to being bullied, the mom who dies in childbirth, the husband who gets killed in combat fighting for his country.
There are some really bad things in this world. It's true. We all know it. We can't understand why. We don't have to understand why. We just have to turn to God and say "Lord, I need you."
He wants to be there to pick us up. He wants to be the shoulder that we cry on, the friend that we turn to, the hand that we hold. He loves us...He loves YOU.
A little deep for a Friday, but hey, that's what spilled out onto the screen.

I'm struggling with my relationship with God. Sometimes it's hard to overcome all of the negative in the world and still have faith.

I absolutely love this post. It kind of goes along with what I have been thinking and some of the things I wrote in my prayer journal last night. Things are hard, but through it all He's the one who never ever betrays us, turns against us, etc. Have a good weekend Megan!

Awww... good post Megan. That C.S. Lewis quote is one of my favorites. I keep journals full of my favorite quotes and over the years have built up a little collection of "quote books" that I love to look back at and learn from again. Happy Weekend friend!

Thank you for this - their truly are some terrible things in this world. My aunt just passed away from cancer in October - her youngest daughter is 13, and her oldest just had their first child (her first grandson) a few weeks ago...she never got to meet him.
:( Sometimes you wonder why things like this have to happen. Thankful for what "spilled" onto your screen today!

Very comforting. I have had a break through in some of my infertility pain over these past couple of days and I seem to be making more ground. This helped even more. Just a reminder why God is good all the time. Love you

Yes yes yes! We may not ever understand those things, but we can rest on the fact that our God is faithful, His grace is enough, and His love abounds...always!
Some times you don't even have the words but just saying, "Lord, I need you" and knowing that He is right there is all you (I) need.

This is so, SO beautiful. I cannot imagine living without God in my life. I don't know how I could go through trials or see other people go through trials without knowing my Heavenly Father is there to turn to! I hope you had a great weekend!
