How We Loved

It's the day after Valentine's Day!! The love doesn't have to end though, it should go ALL year long! : ) By the way, just because I write a post about loving my hubby does not mean that I'm trying to say we are perfect. We love AND we fight. We love to fight. Haha! Anyway...I hope that y'all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and showed some love to someone!! I was off all day and I spent it making cake balls for my sweet hubby! I made yellow cake balls dipped in white chocolate and chocolate. I also made red velvet cake balls dipped in white chocolate! YUM!! They were super delicious, but super rich!! My hubby couldn't even eat a whole bite. I ate three. Ha.

Horrible picture, sorry!

When hubby got off work, we got ready and went to eat at a hibachi restaurant...my favorite! YUM!! I tried to get him to take a picture with me, but he would NOT act normal. Haha.

Attempt #1. Fail.

Attempt #2. Fail.

Attempt #3. Eh, it's okay.

He's lucky that I love him. Or I'd kill him.

Our main Valentine gift to each other was our little getaway trip, but we still got each other a few little goodies. He got me candy, flowers, and a precious card!

Stunning!

I made him a coupon booklet! I have been wanting to do this for awhile. It was really easy and it cost me nothing. I had everything at the house!

The front.

One of the coupons.

Another coupon.

The back.

He was super excited about it and has already pulled the whole "coupon time" thing several times! Haha! Maybe I shouldn't have made that one about no arguing. Hmmm. : )

I also got my Valentine card from the card swap that I participated in! It was SUCH a cute card, from one of my sweet followers, Kati!

She made the red hearts herself! Thanks, Kati!!! It made my day!!

This morning, we were able to sleep in together. Then, I made waffles! I (shamefully) admit that I have not used the waffle maker that we got last summer at one of our wedding showers...until this morning! I finally used it! Hooray! I made chocolate chip waffles! Yum! Needless to say, we are still stuffed and haven't even eaten lunch. Unfortunately, not it's time for me to go to work.

I love y'all so much. Y'all have no idea how much the sweet words and love mean to me! Hope y'all have a great day!!

Love, love!!

Just. Too. Tired.

Hey loves! Happy Thursday! We are back safe and sound from vacation...a little happier, a little poorer, a little bit more tired, and a little fatter. ; )

I just don't have the energy to write a full post about our fabulous time. I promise to do it soon. Promise. We are dead tired...literally. On the way to our vacation, it took us 6.5 hours to get there. On the way back, it took us 12 hours to get home. 12 hours!! In the truck!! Driving 25 miles an hour through a blizzard!!! Okay, maybe not a blizzard, but we did drive through the state of Arkansas...which got lots of snow yesterday! We live in the South. We do not know how to drive in snow, especially through the curvy roads that go through the Arkansas mountains. Yikes.

Our view while driving...the whole day.

My mom was worried sick about us. She wanted us to spend the night somewhere, but we just wanted to get home so that we could have a lazy day today. Which we ARE having. I'm still in my pajamas. Victory. My mom texted me while we were driving and said, "I love y'all, but just know that one day your kids will do this to you, too, and you will be worried sick." Haha. My poor mother.

Even though the drive home was a little rough, I wouldn't change it for the world! We NEVER see that much snow and we had the best time! It was stunning and beautiful! We are definitely cold weather people, not beach people!

Hope y'all had a great day! I have enjoyed catching up on blogs today! It only took me 5 hours. Haha.

Love, love!!

A Snowy Sickness

Hey y'all!! I am totally behind in the blogging world. I have been sick since Wednesday night (fever, vomiting, etc...yuck!) and have literally not gotten out of bed until just now. Thankfully, my hubby was able to be home last night and he took great care of me. I am feeling much better today, after sleeping for 20 of the last 24 hours. : ) I woke up to a winter wonderland (for Louisiana). Since we rarely get snow, I had to immediately jump up and take pictures. For all y'all Yankees, this will look like nothing! I promise though, for us it's like getting 10 inches of snow!! My hubby (aka my "mom") refused to let me go play outside since I was sick, but he did let me take a few pictures!

Looking out the front door.

Down the street.

Our house.

The babies had SO much fun playing outside.

Diesel kept trying to eat the snow.

The snow made them frisky!

Diesel bunny.

Cashie bunny looking a little guilty.

Hubby trying to scrape his windshield. With what, you ask? A Home Depot gift card.

Time for hubby to go to work.

Hubby has banished me from leaving the house because of the roads.

This was my pouty face because I wanted to go get a diet coke! Apparently, hubby does not cave to pouty faces. (Please excuse the no makeup/crazy hair look, I have been sick, remember?)

Now, we are snuggled up by the heater, watching Lifetime.

I'm feeling MUCH better. Even though I'd love to have a huge diet coke right now, I'm loving being curled up with my bunnies by the heater. : ) Please say a prayer of safety for my hubby! He will be at work tonight and our roads are terrible right now. Imagine trying to drive a huge firetruck on icy, snowy, slick roads! Definitely not safe!

In other news, I got my prize from Leslie's giveaway! It was wrapped up SO precious and it smells divine! It definitely got used during this sickness (TMI?). Perfect timing! : )

I am guest blogging today at Rachel's blog, A Life So Lovely. Her blog is fantastic. Please go check it out and let me know what you think!

Hope everyone has a great day today and a fabulous weekend!!!

Love, love!!

The Day He Said...

...those three little words!

Did you think this was our engagement story?? Oops, it's not! It's the story of how Justin first said, "I love you." All in the spirit of the month of love! : )

(If you missed the beginning of our love story, look at the tabs up top!)

Justin and I started dating on October 5, 2009. Our feelings developed fast! Within the first month of dating, we had already started to discuss the possibility of getting married. I hate to say it, but "when you know, you know." We were both falling fast and hanging out as much as possible. I did not want to be the one to say "I love you" first, so I waited on him. Poor guy.

On November 4, 2009, Justin asked if I wanted to go to the State Fair that was in town. I absolutely love the horrible cheesiness of the fair, so I said yes, of course!!

(Please tell me that all of y'all know what a state fair is?? The horrible neon lights? The rides that they put up "safely" in one day? The fabulous food where you can get anything fried?? I mean anything...oreos, cheesecake, pickles!)

It was a beautiful night and the weather was just perfect to walk around and ride some rides! Within the first few minutes of getting to the fair, Justin asked if I wanted to ride the ferris wheel. I said I did, but we could wait until later and eat first. He was pretty insistent that we ride the ferris wheel right away. His exact words: "That way we can see everything and know where everything is." Smooth. : )

So, we climbed on the ferris wheel. It went around a few times. We were looking around and enjoying the view. All of a sudden, we got to the very top...and it stopped. I didn't think anything about it because it does that frequently to let people on and off. I was looking to the side and Justin turned me to face him. He spoke a lot of beautiful words about how he had never felt this way about anyone before and how I made him the happiest that he's ever been. He pulled a rose out of his jacket pocket and said, "I love you, Megan." I then fainted. Haha. Not really, but I wanted to!! It was THE sweetest thing that anyone had ever done for me!! I squealed and screamed and said it back...then we shared some kisses on the way down.

This is not "our" ferris wheel, but isn't it fabulous?

It was such a wonderful moment and I will never ever forget it. He knew how important those words were to me. I don't just throw them around. He wanted to make it a moment that I would always remember. What a catch!! : ) We had a blast the rest of the night at the fair...riding rides, eating until we couldn't breathe, and walking hand in hand, giddy with love. : )

Then, I wanted to beat him for making me ride this horrible, scary ride.

To this day, I still wonder how he hid a rose in his jacket and I never knew! He's a sneaky snake, that one!!

Love, love!!

My Wednesday Loves

I'm loving: this super cold weather that we are having! It's in the 20's here...now we just need some snow! Please!

I'm loving: that I received my first giveaway win from A.E. Jones! Her note was so sweet and it was so fun getting something from a blog friend! I am not Mormon, but this video was messages that are full of hope and love, encouragement and friendship. It was beautiful.

I'm loving: all of the wonderful blog friends that I've made. Truly, y'all enrich my life.

I'm loving: my sweet precious angel bunnies! They make me laugh every single day. This is a picture of them whenever I first got them! Look how tiny! : ) Now they weigh 70 pounds each!

Add ImageI'm loving: Sonic's Red Velvet Cheesecake Blast (with a diet coke, of course!). It is purely heaven. I have eaten it twice this week already. (What I'm not loving is how many calories that it has, but I decided that since I don't eat the whipped cream or the bottom of the ice cream...I'm good. Haha!)

I'm loving: the awards that I was given by three amazing bloggers...Belle in the City, Tickled, and Tango with Tequila! Thanks, loves! Y'all are too sweet!!

I'm loving: my wonderful husband! You are my best friend. Thank you for letting me talk like a baby to you and call you silly pet names. Thank you for snuggling with me on the couch today even though I was being annoying. Thank you for leaving the light on for me when I got home from work tonight. Thank you for always bringing me a diet coke on your way home. You truly know the way to my heart! ; ) Today is our 4 month anniversary!!
I'm loving: that I have reached 300 followers!! Y'all are simply amazing! : ) I am definitely posting a giveaway by this weekend. Since I didn't have time to do one for 200 followers, I am going to have TWO winners! Hooray!! : )

I can't wait to read about your loves today! Go link up and let me know! See you back here soon for a giveaway!

Love, love!

I Don't Wanna Grow Up

Rise and shine!! It's Tuesday!! : ) I enjoyed a fabulous day off yesterday that consisted of:

- Snuggles with the hubby
- Lots of crazy Lifetime movies
- A Sonic blast
- Wearing the same pajamas all day
- Crafting
- Catching up on blogs

Sounds like a wonderful day, right? That's because it was! If only I could have that day on repeat again today! You know how some people say that they could never not work because they'd go crazy with boredom? Nope, not me!! I could definitely be a stay at home wife!

A week or two ago, the beautiful {av} at long distance loving tagged me in a post. You can read it here! I am REALLY late on this post, but being late is better than never! Right?? Right!! Good. Glad we got that settled. All you have to do is write 7 random facts about your childhood! I really enjoyed reading {av}'s facts! It was so cute getting to see some childhood pictures of her! You will have to forgive me in advance...I do not have a scanner, so I had to take pictures of the pictures to post. Yeah...I'm creative.

1) I was a chunky baby. As obvious from the above picture. Several weeks after bringing me home, my mom was bathing me and saw something bright red on my neck and thought I was bleeding. Turns out, it was just a strawberry (a bright red birthmark). She hadn't seen it all those weeks because it was covered up by my "triple chins."

2) Bad words were NOT allowed in our house growing up (or even now). I said a bad word once to my older brother and he told my mom. That little snake. She didn't spank us, so instead she chased me around the house with soap, trying to "wash my dirty mouth out." By the time she finally caught me, we were both laughing so hard that she didn't even do it. Needless to say, I still do not say bad words!

3) My mom signed me up for dance classes when I was little. We had class every Wednesday. Magically, every single Wednesday I had a stomach ache and wanted to skip class. My mom begged me to quit since I obviously hated class, but I wouldn't. Several weeks later, I finally confessed that I didn't want to quit because I liked the pretty outfits that we got to wear. (I quit not long after that...even the pretty outfits weren't enough to make me suffer through class.)

4) I have a brother who is 3 years older and a sister who is 3 years younger. We were all born between November 22-28. November was always our favorite month because we got to celebrate three back-to-back birthdays!

5) I was IN LOVE with my pacifier. Also referred to lovingly as "paci." I would not give it up for anything. When I was 6 years old (yes, 6!), my mom took all of my paci's and told me that the Pacifier Fairy had come for them. The fairy left some toys in place of the paci's that she stole, but I still don't like her to this day. : ) I even had a slight lisp from talking with a pacifier so much! Thankfully, that cleared up on its own. I think. Right? ; )

6) I am left handed. When I came up to bat at my very first tee ball game, the coaches and parents shouted "left handed batter." Then, all of the kids shifted in the field. I hated that because I was the ONLY one that had to do that! I decided right then and there that I was going to bat as if I was right handed. And I did...all the way up through high school softball. (Guess I showed them, huh?) : )

7) One day while playing on the swing set in the backyard, I fell off the swing and hurt my wrist. It looked okay, so we just went on about our lives. Three days later, after gymnastics practice, all of the neighborhood kids were playing baseball together in the driveway. I was playing catcher. I stood up right as the batter was swinging and she hit me in the head with the bat. Did I mention she was three years older than me and super athletic?? Needless to say, my mom took me to the ER where they discovered that not only did I have a concussion, I also had a fractured wrist from my swing set fall! I'm pretty sure they thought my mom was abusing me.

So now you know a little bit more about me...along with some pretty embarrassing facts! The next part is just to tag a few bloggers to do this, too! I am going to tag:

Play along if you want to! If not, no hard feelings! : )

Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Love, love!

Decorating the Home

Hey y'all! Hope y'all have had a great weekend! Sorry that I have been a little MIA lately, I have been working a lot! I'm about to head off to a night shift, but I wanted to show y'all some recent decorating that we have done. We decided to tackle the master bedroom and hang curtains and decor that I have had for...um, at least a year. Oops. Here we go:

The only "tiny" window in the master bedroom.

With new curtains...that I need to iron!

Instead of buying a treatment for the window, I decided to use a shower curtain that I already had that I loved!

Ta-da!!

The after! We hung up the curtains, the black frame, and the iron scroll!

Then, we did a gallery wall! Hubby did not understand it. Haha!

I love our gallery wall! The M was actually hanging on the door of the chapel that we got married in on our wedding day!!

This is a little something that I made recently...more on that to come.

Thanks for reading...sorry it's short! I'm late for work! Hope y'all liked our bedroom decor!!

PS: Don't forget that tomorrow is the "this blog rocks" link up day! Think of your favorite blog and write up a quick post about them, then link up and share it tomorrow! : ) I hope y'all participate!! Take this picture to use if you want!

Love, love!!
