We have a new hobby. It's called "tennis." Here is what you do:

- Throw the tennis ball against the wall of the house

- Laugh at silly puppies trying to catch it

This fun new game leads to tired puppies, which leads to happy mommy and daddy because they sleep soundly for the rest of the day/night. They are lazy...what can I say? Wonder who they get it from?

Coming Out of the Closet

Wanna know what we do on the weekends? We clean. 

We are wild. 

This past weekend we both had ALL day Saturday off. It's the first time we have been off a weekend day together in awhile. At first, we didn't know what to do, so we just sat and started at each other. That was boring. (Joking!) We actually ate breakfast together and enjoyed snuggling and watching some tv. Then, my darling sweet hubby had to ruin the laziness and went outside to clean up dog poop, so I decided to be a sweet wife and do what he has been asking me to do for 6 months...clean out my closet. 

I may have a problem getting rid of clothes/shoes. 

Confession: I wear scrubs to work and pajamas almost every other day. I don't need that many clothes. However, when I go through my closet I think, "I love this shirt...I will definitely wear it." Two years go by and the shirt is still unworn. 

Here is my side of the closet...mostly neat and organized:

Here is my get rid of pile. Kinda small, I know. Progress is progress. 

This may sound dorky, but we had SO much fun cleaning out the closet. We found my belt drawer and I have never seen my hubby make so many strange faces. He just doesn't understand fashion. Ready for a blast from the past?? I decided to model some belts that I used to think were cool. I'm talking like 5 years ago cool. I promise that I have not worn them in the last 5 years. Please tell me that someone out there had belts like this at one time...please! (If you wear belts like this now, I apologize. Please don't hate me!)

Notice: Do not be jealous of my outfit...not everyone can wear pajamas all day.

Another Reason Lifetime Rocks

If you follow me on twitter (which you should), then you know that yesterday I was FINALLY able to watch Coming Home on Lifetime. It's a new show where men/women who are serving overseas come home and surprise their family members. I definitely recommend this show for every single person. 

It. Is. Amazing. 

It was so heart warming to watch these people be reunited after being apart so long and so sweet to hear their stories of love, life, and long distance. I was crying the entire show. Happy tears, of course. I think my hubby even had a tear or two...don't tell him I told y'all that. He will never admit it.

I know how good it feels to see my hubby after just ONE night of him being gone for work, so I cannot imagine the emotions that they go through after being separated for months and years. 

I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to all those serving in the military who make huge sacrifices to keep me safe in this beautiful country. Y'all are loved, respected, and supported. I hope that y'all never feel forgotten...y'all are SO appreciated. Thank you to all of the families that send their loved ones to defend this country...I have so much respect and awe for y'all. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Late Night Delirium

It's Friday...woohoo! I was going to post a vlog today, but I can't figure out how to use my webcam yet. Stay tuned...this webcam business can only get more interesting! : ) 

I was able to blype with two of my blogging besties, Michaela and Meg, over the last few days. Funnest. thing. ever. Seriously. I don't think they wanted these pictures posted, but what is a post without pictures??

I have a super huge question that I need y'alls advice on. This summer, my hubby and I are going to take a trip out to California to see Michaela! (Real life blogger meet up...finally!) We have been looking at plane tickets, but tonight when I got home at 1 am, I decided that...maybe we should drive the whole way!

I think I'm delirious.

From where we live to where we need to go in Cali is about 30 hours and 1,900 miles. Yikes. I know. Stay with me here. I was thinking...when else ever in our lives would we be able to do this?? Plus, we can stop along the way and see some beautiful cities that we've never been to. I'm thinking:

- 1 night in Albuquerque

- 2 nights in Las Vegas

- 3-4 nights in Cali

- 1 night in Las Vegas (back)

- 1 night in Albuquerque (back)

That doesn't sound that bad, right?? We might could even somehow fit the Grand Canyon in there. Ahhhhhh. The possibilities are endless. I haven't told my hubby this idea yet. He will think I'm crazy. I kinda like road trips though. Like our trip to Branson. {plugged it} They are ALWAYS interesting and there is lots of time to bond and talk. I tried to add up the costs and it seems like it'll basically be the same. Obviously we will spend more money if we stop and do things along the way, but hey, you only live once, right??

So after doing this survey, I'm thinking that I'm pretty dang lucky to have my hubby!! He is amazing for putting up with a stubborn, hard headed, temper tantrum throwing wife like me! : )

He Reigns

Happy Sunday! I hope y'all have had a wonderful weekend! 

With everything that has been going on in the world lately, I feel a little unworthy of my blessed and easy life. It's sad how sometimes it takes tragedy to make you realize how blessed you are. The devastation that I have seen in pictures is astounding and literally takes any words away. There is nothing that I can think of to describe the pain that people are going through. It seems like there has just been tragedy after tragedy lately. 

Lucky for us: God is STRONGER and BIGGER than any tragedy. 

Thank goodness for that. Sometimes it's hard to remember, but God is always present, even in disaster. I firmly believe that He is there and working...pray for His work to be done. I don't want to make light of anything today, but I decided that we could all use a dose of happy. Here are a few things that make me happy. I hope they lighten y'alls hearts, too!

My Savior...I'd be nothing without Him. 

Pizza. No explanation needed.

A big comfy bed. 

Friends. 

Cupcakes and pearls...yes, please! (Possible choking hazard)

Glitter. 

Babies + costumes = delightful. 

Anything Starbucks related. 

Puppies. 

Bright colored nails. 

Gorgeous dresses. 

Innocence. 

I want to just say a sincere THANK YOU to each and every single one of my blog friends. Y'all encourage me, support me, lift me up, make me laugh, and inspire me...every single day. I love y'all.

The Simple Things

Today, my thought process for "What I'm Loving Wednesday" is a little bit different. Yes, I still love my husband, my new nail polish, that Brad picked Emily, etc...but today is different. Today I am content.

I spent time with some of my best friends from college yesterday, along with their sweet babies. It was simple. It was joy. It was life, pure and sweet. 

We sat on the back porch, we watched babies shriek and squeal and play. We kissed scrapes and bumps, we ate pickles and cookies, we felt the sun on our skin. We blew bubbles and watched the babies try to catch them. We talked about life and marriage and God...we lived the way that life is supposed to be lived. Slow and simple, with lots of joy. And it was good. Life was good. No technology. Just us, sun, grass, and sky. Life from a babies view is so much sweeter. 

A smile just isn't complete without cookie crumbs.

On the way home, I heard a song that I've heard several times. I've sung along to it before. This time, I heard it differently. God laid it on my heart...I sung it as if my life depended on it.

That is my desire...to stop living selfishly and live as God has called. To spread His word and help this hurting world. I am blessed. Not everyone is so blessed.
