My title is true.
Except...today is opposite day. (Remember playing that in 4th grade?)
So unfortunately that makes it false.
Remember that movie The Stepford Wives?
Basically it's about perfect (robotic) wives. Yeah, I am not one. This does not come as a shock to me, but I decided that maybe it is time to change my ways. Yesterday my hubby said, "Hey baby, do you think that you're gonna cook a real meal anytime this week?" He said this honestly, not sarcastically or meanly. Yikes. My poor husband has to ask if I am going to cook one actual meal over the whole week. That's shameful.
In my defense, I keep a really clean house!! : )
So, yeah, let me just get that out in the open. I don't cook. It's not that I can't. I just don't enjoy it. I like to bake, but I hate to cook. I usually say "It's not my fault" because I work 12 hour days and my hubby is gone a lot of nights at work. I am going to stop saying that because I have met tons of wonderful bloggers who work lots of hours and crazy hours, yet still manage to cook. Dang this blog world, it makes me feel bad. Haha. Just kidding, loves!!
Sometimes I have whole days off and promise myself that I am going to go grocery shopping. It almost never happens. Let me walk you through my days off:
- Rise and shine (around noon...eeks)
- Sit in my rocking chair and eat breakfast (yes, I eat breakfast at noon)
- Turn on Lifetime
- Open up my computer...check emails and blog
- Get hungry for lunch
- Realize that there is nothing in the house for lunch
- Blog some more
- Eat random food for lunch
- Think about going grocery shopping
- Vomit after thinking about it
- Blog some more and continue to watch Lifetime
- Make poor hubby eat tuna when he gets home
That is what my days off are like. Except sometimes hubby doesn't come home, so I just snack on whatever I can find all day long. I'm sorry, @PeasandCrayons, don't hate me!
So here's where I need y'alls help. PLEASE share any cooking/shopping/menu planning tips that y'all have with me. Better yet, tell me to put my big girl panties on (not to be confused with granny panties) and go to the dang grocery store! I eventually want to be a stay at home mom, so I need to trick convince my hubby now that I will be serving him delicious meals. Maybe if I had some friends to grocery shop with I'd like it?
That's not what y'all look like when y'all grocery shop? ; )
Seriously, any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Love, love!
PS: Before anyone tells me to make my hubby cook, my hubby works more than I do AND has a side job AND does all the house and lawn maintenance. That's why I consider cooking and cleaning to be my job.
PPS: He NEVER gripes about me not cooking either. He's amazing!
