We skype. Friendship saved.

New Addition: Radar

It's finally time to unveil our newest addition to the family...

His name is Radar and he's a Golden Retriever. He has been with us for about a month and he has really settled right into the family. I was somewhat worried about how Diesel would react since he has been the only male pup in the house for 2 years, but after a few stiff glances, they have become buddies and enjoy biting each other and sniffing each other's butts. And for them, that's really what it is all about. : ) 

Radar is Justin's new K9 Search and Rescue dog. He is trained to search for live humans and he assists with missing persons cases. He came from Wisconsin and is not used to the heat and humidity here, so he is having a tough time getting adjusted. He is significantly more trained than Diesel and Cashmere, but he enjoys a lazy day at home, too!

Clearly, we need human children. : ) For now, these little doll faces will do just fine!

That One Time I Went to Jail

So I'm pretty sure that everyone thinks I'm a goody two shoes, but I have a confession. 

I have gone to jail. Once.

Chocolate chip cookie dough brownies via Pinterest. 

I hope none of y'all are dieting...because let's be honest, it just ended after seeing that heavenly pairing.

Paper Flowers

I actually have a tutorial for y'all today. Shocking, I know. 

Instead of just sitting on my butt and watching tv, I got up and did something. : )

I'm going to show y'all how to make paper flowers. It is THE easiest thing ever. I kinda feel ridiculous posting a tutorial on them because it is that easy. Seriously. Just be prepared. 

Start with a blank picture frame. This was $1 at Michael's and I spray painted it white. 

Cut out different sizes of circles. I used cardstock and cut out a large circle, a medium circle, and a small circle. 

Ball up the circles. As in, yes, ball them up in your first and squish them really good. 

Unfold them and stack them from large to small, using a tiny dab of hot glue between them. 

Hot glue your choice of center accents (I chose pearls) and glue flower to the frame. 

And you're done. 

It looks cute as a single flower or with several flowers. 

In summary: cut circles, ball them up, and glue.

These Three Things - Young and Fabulous

It's time for "These Three Things" again...where we learn three things that define some fabulous blogger. Today I have my Boston lovahhhhh, Erica, here today!! She was one of the first bloggers that I started following and we have been besties ever since. She is seriously the cutest thing ever and has basically danced her way around the blog world. She's like the "So You Think You Can Dance" champion of the blog world. Seriously. Ask her. She has videos to prove it. ; ) Her posts always make me laugh and I just know that y'all will love her.

Eeee! I am excited to be here on Meggy Moo's blog! I must admit. When I first stumbled upon her blog, I was immediately jealous of her hair...like legit (yeah I know..I'm lame). But how pretty is it!?!? Okay. I'm not here to talk about her hair. I'm here to talk about my Three Things! Ready?

Smiling

I'm a big fan of smiling. Strange, I know. But nothing makes me more upset than seeing someone with a constant Frown Face (edited by Meg...haha). Smile for goodness sake! Smile for me daddy, whatchu lookin at? I wanna see yo grillz. You wanna see my WHAAT?

I'd say I'm a very happy, smiley person. I think smiling is the cure for anything, and I know it sounds cheesy, but I smile at everyone I walk past..whether it be someone at work, a creepy looking person in a store (which may sometimes give them the wrong idea?) or someone who looks sad.

I know when my grandmother died, a day before her funeral, I was out somewhere just roaming aimlessly and I must have looked lost because someone walked right up to me and smiled, saying "everything will be okay." Granted he DID look a little loopy, maybe a little drunk, maybe something...but it really helped me! A professor in college said to us one day, "today, give a stranger one of your smiles...it may be the only sunshine he sees all day."

Celebrities

Don't be so quick to judge! It sounds shallow, but I am OBSESSED with celebs and celeb gossip. It's actually a lifestyle. I just think the lifestyle of the rich and the famous is so interesting. I'd love to be in that business some day, preferably writing about them. A girl can dream right? I'm constantly reading gossip websites about them and follow them all on twitter. Writing this, I realize I sound like a freak.

Let me explain. My boyfriend is originally from New Jersey, and his family still lives there. He lives about 30 minutes from neighborhoods of The Real Housewives of NJ, Rev Run, Ludacris, and some others. One weekend we went down to visit and I made it a mission of mine to scout out their houses via re-runs of shows and Google. I then forced him to drive down there and look for the houses. We found only a few..it pissed me off that half of their houses were way far back with bushes and trees covering. Stupid private people!

Friends

I've had the same three best friends since preschool. Though we went our separate ways for college, we are still going strong! 20 years later, holla! It's a nice feeling to know you have a secure group of friends. I don't know what I'd do without these ladies! I mean, who else would I have scavenger hunts with? Or who else would I have daily emails with about nonsense? Love them.

Beliefs and Convictions

As my blog has grown throughout the past few months, I have gotten this question numerous times. I am never offended by it and I always freely answer it, yet I have never covered it publicly on my blog. I'm not at all ashamed or embarrassed, but I think that some people become defensive and I would rather avoid controversy and drama. However, I have prayed about this and I feel that the time has come to share. 

I am referring to this question: "Were you a virgin when you got married?"

Before I answer, I'd like to say that I am in no way judging anyone who sees differently than I. Judgement is not for any human to perform, but rather we will all be judged before God one day. I am choosing to share MY choice in hopes that I can help someone else who is struggling with the issue.

Here is what I believe about sex:

- Sex was created by God for us to enjoy.
- Sex is meant to be within the boundaries of marriage.
- We are all prone to sin and immorality, so we must guard our hearts and minds.

So yes, I did wait until marriage to have sex. To me, sex is SO personal and SO emotional and I just cannot imagine having it freely and openly outside of marriage. That being said, I do believe that purity is a tough decision. I definitely do not want to portray it as being something "easy" to do. It's a constant battle and it is laughed upon frequently "in the eyes of the world." It takes dedication and commitment to God, yourself, and your future spouse.

I could quote scripture about why I believe what I believe about sex, but I'm not going to. Just know that my feelings towards sex and purity are directly related to my faith and my walk with God.

Fire Station Field Trip

This past weekend, my best friend, Melissa, and her family came to stay a night at our house. 

Her sister just moved and our city is now on the way when they go to visit. #winning

The next morning, we headed up to my husband's fire station to take a little tour before they left town. My husband works at one of the older fire stations and it really is quaint and adorable. 

Hubs slid down the pole for us, but he was so quick that I couldn't even catch it.

It's Official!

I have the absolute BEST ever news to share with y'all today!!!

It is official...Michaela is coming to visit me and the good ole state of Louisiana!

Michaela and I have been blog friends for a looooong time...like about 8 months. So basically a lifetime. : )

She really has become one of my best friends and we talk every. single. day. My real life best friends have heard so much about her that they are even stoked to meet her!!

Last night, we made it official and booked the plane tickets! WOOHOO! We plan to explore the whole state of Louisiana since she has never been to this absolutely boring amazing state. 

Is it weird that our first pictures together are skype pictures? #lifeofablogger

After my first ever blate with Julie went SO amazing, I am thrilled to meet another blogger!

Time to start making out the itinerary. First stop, Wal-Mart! #classy That Cali girl has never been.

We have had some good eats around here lately. 

Along with the Mexican chicken and oreo cheesecake bites we had the other day, we have been eating:
