We skype. Distance covered.

Remember my best friend who just moved away to grad school?

We skype. Friendship saved.

Who's next?

Love, love!!

PS: Hubs and I skype when he's at the fire station, but he refuses to have his picture taken. #lame

New Addition: Radar

It's finally time to unveil our newest addition to the family...

His name is Radar and he's a Golden Retriever. He has been with us for about a month and he has really settled right into the family. I was somewhat worried about how Diesel would react since he has been the only male pup in the house for 2 years, but after a few stiff glances, they have become buddies and enjoy biting each other and sniffing each other's butts. And for them, that's really what it is all about. : )

Radar is Justin's new K9 Search and Rescue dog. He is trained to search for live humans and he assists with missing persons cases. He came from Wisconsin and is not used to the heat and humidity here, so he is having a tough time getting adjusted. He is significantly more trained than Diesel and Cashmere, but he enjoys a lazy day at home, too!

He has a scab over his left eye from playing a little too rough. #men

All three of the little babes.

Clearly, we need human children. : ) For now, these little doll faces will do just fine!

Love, love!

Bunny Babies

I kinda feel like I can't even put two sentences together right now.

I'm that tired.

Luckily for y'all, I'm guest blogging over at Rorie's blog today. Please read it...because I like comments and love. It's true.

Also, I have just enough energy to upload some pictures of the babies. Enjoy.

Trip to Petco to get groomed. #wasteofmoney #itrainedthenextday #mudeverywhere

Forgive his nasty draining allergy eye.

Mr. Nosy.

I need a lot of that above picture this weekend. This little lady is tired.

What are y'all up to this weekend? Something more fun than me, I'm sure.

Love, love!

PS: I have a new baby to share with y'all soon. A puppy baby, NOT a human baby. : )

Beliefs and Convictions

As my blog has grown throughout the past few months, I have gotten this question numerous times. I am never offended by it and I always freely answer it, yet I have never covered it publicly on my blog. I'm not at all ashamed or embarrassed, but I think that some people become defensive and I would rather avoid controversy and drama. However, I have prayed about this and I feel that the time has come to share.

I am referring to this question: "Were you a virgin when you got married?"

Before I answer, I'd like to say that I am in no way judging anyone who sees differently than I. Judgement is not for any human to perform, but rather we will all be judged before God one day. I am choosing to share MY choice in hopes that I can help someone else who is struggling with the issue.

Here is what I believe about sex:

- Sex was created by God for us to enjoy.
- Sex is meant to be within the boundaries of marriage.
- We are all prone to sin and immorality, so we must guard our hearts and minds.

So yes, I did wait until marriage to have sex. To me, sex is SO personal and SO emotional and I just cannot imagine having it freely and openly outside of marriage. That being said, I do believe that purity is a tough decision. I definitely do not want to portray it as being something "easy" to do. It's a constant battle and it is laughed upon frequently "in the eyes of the world." It takes dedication and commitment to God, yourself, and your future spouse.

I could quote scripture about why I believe what I believe about sex, but I'm not going to. Just know that my feelings towards sex and purity are directly related to my faith and my walk with God.

If anyone has any questions for me, feel free to shoot me an email! I'd love to chat with you about it!

If you're currently practicing purity, good for you! Stay strong! It's worth it!

Love, love!!

PS: I'm not trying to start a controversial topic, so if you disagree with me, keep it polite or just click the X in the corner. ; )

Fire Station Field Trip

This past weekend, my best friend, Melissa, and her family came to stay a night at our house.

Her sister just moved and our city is now on the way when they go to visit. #winning

The next morning, we headed up to my husband's fire station to take a little tour before they left town. My husband works at one of the older fire stations and it really is quaint and adorable.

Hubs slid down the pole for us, but he was so quick that I couldn't even catch it.

Van's turn.

Fireman in training.

The cutest firewoman that I have ever seen.

Captain Cutie...perfect outfit for the trip!

7 months old and already driving. #genius

I love my hero hubby!

After that, I went and got my hair done and it went SO amazingly well! I'll definitely be going back to her.

How was y'alls weekend?

Love, love!

It's Official!

I have the absolute BEST ever news to share with y'all today!!!

It is official...Michaela is coming to visit me and the good ole state of Louisiana!

Michaela and I have been blog friends for a looooong about 8 months. So basically a lifetime. : )

She really has become one of my best friends and we talk every. single. day. My real life best friends have heard so much about her that they are even stoked to meet her!!

Last night, we made it official and booked the plane tickets! WOOHOO! We plan to explore the whole state of Louisiana since she has never been to this absolutely boring amazing state.

Is it weird that our first pictures together are skype pictures? #lifeofablogger

After my first ever blate with Julie went SO amazing, I am thrilled to meet another blogger!

Time to start making out the itinerary. First stop, Wal-Mart! #classy That Cali girl has never been.

Love, love!!

PS: I like using titles that will make people think I'm announcing I'm pregnant. Weird? : )

My Mother

Today is my precious mommy's birthday!

My mom really is my best friend and words can't even describe what she means to me. I am so blessed to call her mom. We have always had a really close relationship, even through those snotty teenage years!

Happy happy birthday mommy! I love you!

My parents and my sister are driving in for lunch today and I can't wait to celebrate with my mom's favorite dessert: pie! We are going with peach and coconut this time around.

Wish my mom a happy birthday, will ya?

Love love!

Sleepover Blate

So that first blate...was amaaaaazing.

Y'all know how people say "when you know, you know" about finding your true love? Well, at the risk of sounding nuts, that's totally how I felt about my blog friend-turned real life friend.

I was fortunate to be able to meet Julie from The Smitten Mintons as her and her husband were driving through town. Julie and I clicked as soon as we started following each other's blog and have been dying to meet each other. We actually had a sleepover first blate and after calling our husbands to assure them that "she's not an 80 year old man, she really is who she says she is," we were off to dinner and nonstop chatter.

I really don't have any words to describe it other than perfection. We literally never ran out of things to say and it was a feeling of instant comfort and friendship. It was definitely that cliche "I feel like I've known you for years." There's something about bloggers that we just "get" about each other.

Julie brought her dog, Maisy. After a little bit of nerves on both sides, we finally allowed Maisy and my THREE dogs to play. And play they did. They definitely slept like babies after that.

Cashmere and Maisy checking each other out.

Finally REAL LIFE friends!

I kinda wanted to cry when we were saying goodbye...totally not fair that we live so far apart. We definitely made a promise to meet up again at some point in our lives. It's a must. Especially when we have babies.

Can y'all believe that is all the pictures that I took? #horribleblogger Julie got some really great ones of the pups, so definitely head to her blog and check them out.

Kudos to our husbands for trusting our decision to meet!

Love, love!

PS: I'm guest posting over at Liv's blog for her Girlfriend Guide series, talking about what I look for in a bestie!

Saying Goodbye with Food

This past Friday, one of my best friends in the whole world, Shannon, moved away to start grad school.

While I am obviously SUPER thrilled for her and proud of her, I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty sad.

Instead of only being 1.5 hours away, she is now 3.5 hours away.

We had a last little get together Thursday night with some absolutely delicious food!

Chicken to make chicken tacos. Divine.

Oreo cheesecake bites. Recipe here. These were the most amazing things ever.

Little brother.

Husband making my baby fever worse.

Somehow I didn't get any pictures of us girls, just the food. #fatty

It was such a great night...and we all gained 5 pounds. That's how I know it was a success.

Love, love!!

PS: You can find me over at Becky's blog today, talking about ways to keep a marriage happy!

Rehearsal Dinner

So it's been awhile (like 2 months) since I blogged about our wedding. Our anniversary is coming up and my goal is to have it finished by let's get started!

Our rehearsal dinner was held at a place that is part farm/part venue and full on country adorableness. It's on the outskirts of town, surrounded by farms, old houses, and green grass. It's literally such a beautiful place that we honestly didn't do any decorations for the rehearsal all. Is that weird? It was just perfect as is.

We chose to have a really laid back dinner, complete with fried catfish, french fries, hush puppies, chicken tenders, jambalaya, spinach and artichoke dip, cookies, and cheesecake bites...just to name a few things. The food was literally THE most delicious morsels that I have ever eaten. I'm not sure if it was the excitement I was feeling, the love, or just plain old good food, but we all ate until we couldn't breathe anymore. #thebestwaytodoit

We did the traditional task of giving our wedding party their gifts. The husband's dad also made the most beautiful speech that I've ever heard...leaving us all with tears in our eyes. It was so nice to have such a casual atmosphere to spend time with our family and celebrate our last few moments of being single.

Walking in.

My baby sister and my mom...both so stunning.

Flower girl.

Bridesmaids acting silly.

After dinner, husband and I both went our separate ways. His friends headed out to do some glow in the dark bowling...and we headed home to veg out and act silly. Call us dorks, but it was SO much fun.

Bathing precious baby the night before my wedding = priceless!

We have almost made it to the actual wedding day!! WOOHOO!! Thanks for reading along!

Love, love!
