Bearing Fruit

Something has been on my mind all day and I just wanted to share it here today.

Your body will bear fruit that is a representation of what you are feeding it.

A lot of people use that wording when talking about eating healthy and working out, but I'm talking about spiritually. My actions, thoughts and words will reflect what I put into my body. And I want everything that I do to reflect Christ, so I need to feed my body with God's word, not worldly things.

I'm committing myself to more Bible time, less tv time. We only get one life and I want to live mine for the Lord. When I die, I want to hear those precious words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

This has been on my heart SO MUCH lately! We are very aware of how important it is to exercise and eat fruits and veggies to be physically healthy.... but for some reason I let life become to busy to be spiritually fed and "healthy". I really am going to start setting aside MORE time to read my scriptures and build my relationship with God!

What a great post! One of my goals has always been to read the Bible all the way through....but I keep putting it off saying I'll wait and make it a resolution. Maybe now's the time to get on that instead!

During our church service this morning my pastor talked about where we spend our money and our time and I was reflecting about the time I spend with the Lord compared to other things. I'm with you on wanting to spend more time in the word. There are too many influences that are unhealthy! Thanks for emphasizing again what I was thinking!!!

This is so important to remember! Thank you for sharing, dearest meggie. Sometimes I'll skip my devotion time in the morning for more blogging time, and I just don't feel the same later in the day. I need to put time in the Word in, so that I can proclaim and portray Jesus in my everyday life.

This is an amazing reminder. I need to work on this more, too. It's so much easier to focus on other things, but we need to focus on the most important things.

What a wonderful reminder. I think we can all take some time every day to set the computer down, turn off the tv, get our head out of "Hunger Games", "50 Shades of Grey" or whatever it is we are reading and spend some time in Gods word.

I believe that you will be welcomed in with open arms. You not only emit good Christian vibes, you open the hearts of others with your honest faith. I don't want to sound cheesy, but it's the truth!

Oh girl, this is on my heart all the time. And yet, shamefully, I don't do much about it. :( I wish we lived close so we could have bible study together!!!

Beautiful reminder friend!!! Can we do a Bible study together in addition to confessing our eating habits??

I totally agree with the less TV time and less social media in general! I want to live my life, not spend it in front of a screen!

I've been working on this as well. One of my New Years resolutions was to read the Bible. I bought a 1 year chronological Bible for my Nook & I've been reading it everyday. It's broken up for every day of the year & it's about 8 or 10 pages a day. So far so good & I've kept up with it. It just seems easier to comprehend when it's broken down the way it is.

I've been really thinking a lot about this lately. I keep meaning to write a post about it..maybe today will be the day, haha. But I've been thinking lately about WHAT I want to be doing and WHERE I want to be when Jesus comes back. Since I won't know "when" until it happens, I should be ready *all the time*. I don't think drinking is bad in moderation, but I don't want to be in a bar when He comes back. But that applies to so many things...I don't want to be watching a vulgar movie or tv show or whatever... I've been thinking of cutting off our satellite.... so much to think about. It'd be a good way to give myself the motivation to to spend much more time in the word.

This is so true. I also need to be feeding my body spiritually instead of filling it with wordly things!

This is a great commitment. It's incredible the glory and power God can exhibit to us and through us when we're spending time with Him!

This is so true! I want to do the same, as matter of fact, I've been working on reading more of Gods word in the mornings. It is so important and I've realized how much better it makes my day.
