His Word

God's word is rich and full, containing everything that we need at every moment that we need it. You just have to read it consistently to find it.

I've been praying a lot lately about reading the Bible. I've prayed for dedication in reading, passion to read it and guidance for where to read each time that I sit down. It's amazing how you can read something that relates exactly to the situation you are in right now. God is faithful.

Here's a few verses that I've bookmarked lately. Read His good word.

Spur one another on in the Lord. We all could do that more.

Forgiveness - give it freely and without question.

God can do ANYTHING. He sustains.

To me, the quote about forgiveness is the most meaningful. I need to be more compassionate. Love you friend!

My favorite is the quote about fear. When I go into a scary situation I try and remember that I'm not alone. Together with the Lord I can do and be anything.

I have a daily bible app on my phone that gives a daily versus (or few). Do you have a devotion guide that you are reading? I would like to find a good one.

I like the Hebrews 13:6 verse. I'll have to commit that one to memory. It's a good reminder when people are being mean. It seems like one of God's little reminders :)

That first one hit home for me. Right now I'm finishing up Romans and 1 Corinthians then I think I will start Hebrews!

So great. I love how God uses a verse at JUST the right moment. He's so cool that way.

My walk with the Lord is closer than it has ever been and it's only because of two things a while back: 1)I committed to reading His Word daily and 2)I replaced about 99.9% of my music with strictly Christian radio and CD's. Having kids in the car, I certainly didn't want them hearing what is, unfortunately, mostly garbage on regular radio. (Even though I love the sound, lets face it, the lyrics are not exactly kid-friendly...why should I put it in my head either? ;)

BTW...I was JUST telling my mom about you this morning (were your ears burning? Lol.) about how I've seen a shift in your blog to more and more spiritual matters (a lot like my blog...random silliness and fun with the important serious stuff...the stuff that really matters). Love how God is using you, Megan. Keep it all coming. The fun Megan who loves the Lord and isn't afraid to tell it.

I have also been trying to read scripture more!

these are all good, but hebrews 10:23 is one of my favorite. I just love the word unswervingly. such a strong word. and spuring one another on is such an important thing!

I love that app. That's what I use but in NASB. I love that version best.

I was just reading it at lunch today, just like I said I would start doing. I don't have a clear spot so I'm reading Ephesians just cause. :)

Thanks for the encouraging post! Inspires me to get even more into God's Word...
its so funny sometimes I mark things down in my Bible but sometimes the same passage can mean different things at different times depending on what I'm going through.. :)

Oh me too! My desire to be in the word ebbs and flos and oh I can feel its absence on the days when I let reading slip by. A book I got into in college when I was trying to learn how to pray scripture better was Beth Moore's Praying God's Word. It is incredible. I still use it as a reference today!

These are all touching. I love using this app! Are you doing the soul detox? I've been learning so much from it! It is amazing how you can read something that relates to your life so much. That's how I've been feeling about the soul detox lately.

Thank you so much for the reminder Megan! God's word is the best, and I too need to have my appetite for it increased.
