If there's one thing that I love: it's blueberries. And there's two other things that I love: free things and fresh things. Add all three of those things together and that makes for a pretty perfect day. After my friend's shower this past weekend, we got to go out and pick fresh blueberries from their yard. We each filled up ziploc bags full, although some of us (Melissa!) filled up two four bags full.
It was so nice to literally pick a blueberry and be able to eat it right there on the spot. We probably had a little too much fun and we ended up being out there for about an hour. The berries were delicious, too, so juicy and sweet. I finished the last few off today and now I'm ready to go back for more. Lucky for me we are picking again next week for her wedding. I'll definitely share pictures.
Dear husband, let's have blueberry bushes one day.

I love berries! I would love to be able to grow them, but there are too many animals where we live and they'd eat them all!
That's so sweet. I love blueberries, they must taste amazing fresh. I remember once eating a whole supermarket carton full in about 5 minutes!

Berry bushes are the best!! We've already planned where our bushes are going to be in our new house haha! Mmmm :)
I would love a berry bush, but I'm afraid my dogs would eat them all lol. Bentley loves the smell of fruit, so I probably wouldn't get to eat any haha

How fun! I love being able to go outside and pick my food and then eat it on the spot :) Blueberry bushes are a must one day!

So jealous. This looks like it was so much fun!!!!
My mom has a peach tree. I pick a ton, cut, and freeze. It makes for a tasty treat later. Frozen peaches are an awesome snack too.
I have a bunch of fresh blueberries in my fridge! Love them!!
Fresh blueberries like that always taste SO much better than they do at the store. I love picking them!
That second to last photo is great haha
We have raspberry bushes out back, I can't wait until they are ready to pick!

Loooove fresh blueberries, I wonder if we have a good spot to plant one?! I truly don't know much about planting anything other than flowers-- and even that I'm a lil rusty on ;)

How fun! I LOVE fresh fruit and veges from the garden. I can't believe there were so many blueberries to pick! We planted a blueberry plant last year, but it never grew. Someday we will have to plant a huge garden at our house and hopefully this time our blueberries grow as well as your friends!

At first I was thinking..that's ALL the blueberries you guys got in each bag? Then I saw the other picture and felt better. I would have been the 4 bag lady.. yes I just called her the bag lady, but in all fairness, I was calling myself it too. ;)
I feel like I am seriously missing out, because I have never had blueberries that fresh! Plus you all just look so darn cute. I especially love your maxi.
I love it!! I want a blueberry bush in our backyard! We have strawberries growing on vines and I love picking those and just eating them right out there, but I'd love to have blueberries too! :)
I used to LOVE going to my great-aunt's and picking berries to make jam! More often than not, I would eat more than we would make jam with, but such is always the case, right??
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!
YUM! I know how amazing fresh raspberries are... I can only imagine how yummy fresh blueberries are! I can't wait to buy a home and have a yard where we can plant raspberries and blueberries! YUM!
How fun! I would love to pick fresh berries! Strawberries would be my favorite!
Have you ever had blueberry crepes? They are SO good. If there is a Bob Evans near you, you should definitely try them. It's my new favorite breakfast!
