Dallas Trip

This past Friday we loaded up the truck and headed to Dallas for a little baby shopping trip. I have been dying to make a trip to Ikea (for the first time ever) and so that was the main point behind our road trip. We also hit up The Container Store and Buy Buy Baby, both of which I head over heels loved. I contemplated moving to Dallas for a few hours, but my senses quickly returned when we got stuck in 5 o'clock traffic. Horrible.

Ikea was definitely amazing and unique. We made it in and out in just under two hours, which I was pretty proud of. I can totally see how people spend half a day in there, though, especially if they are shopping for lots of house items. We ended up bringing home a dresser, a chest of drawers, a little storage thing, lots of baskets/trinkets and a lamp. Emory was happy, to say the least. : )

The pieces of the nursery are slowly starting to come together and I am just thrilled about it. We aren't going to actually start setting it up until closer to delivery, just in case we sell our house before then, but I really can see it starting to all come together. Happy, happy, happy.

A few other cute items recently:

The nursery rug...woohoo! Can't wait to share it!

The rest of our weekend was spent snuggled up in bed/on the couch as it rained and rained. Tomorrow we are celebrating our second wedding anniversary! TWO WHOLE YEARS! Oh how time flies when you're having fun!

I am so impressed that you were in and out of Ikea in two hours! You guys rock! We used tons of Ikea furniture in E's nursery and we have loved it. I can't wait to see everything come together. I know it will be precious!

2 hours and you were out of IKEA?! I've gotta make sure my hubby doesn't read this and know it's even a possibility! ;) It takes me hours in there! hahaha

So glad your nursery is starting to come together!! :)

Closest IKEA to me is outside of Chicago, about 4 hours from me - is it worth the drive? I hear so many awesome things that eventually I do want to do it just haven't yet!

I bet you're dying to put together that nursery. I would be so stressed not knowing when/if we should start setting up. I hope you sell your house soon so you can move and get settled. :) Can't wait to see it all come together!

Wow, how far of a drive is Dallas from you?? I live in the DFW and only been out to IKEA twice. I find it too overwhelming!
The Container Store is amazing though. Sometimes I like to just walk around and dream about living in an extremely organized home. Maybe one day.

Im not sure how I missed it, but I keep seeing you say something about selling your house! Where are you guys moving to?

There's an organization/container store in Honolulu that G and I went to and we absolutely loved it there. you completely reminded me of it and now I'm dying to go back to help with his small apartment!

Glad you were able to load up on baby things. I'm sure its tough not being able to set everything up!

Ikea is my happy place...

Doesn't it give you the urge to redecorate everything? Or just move into their demo rooms...

Can't wait to see that sweet girl's space!

I'm so jealous! I've never actually been to an IKEA but supposedly one is going to be built in KC within the next couple of years!

Can't wait to see all the nursery details.

My husband refuses to ever go into IKEA with me again, ha ha. We made the mistake of going hungry the first time we went... and E doesn't handle hunger well :) He was so ornery by the time we made it to the end of the maze!
I can't wait to see Emory's nursery! So excited for your sweet, baby girl!
And the rest of your weekend? Perfection!!

Happy anniversary tomorrow!! Time truly does fly! Love you :)

Cant wait to see the rug! I love IKEA but definitely agree, could never live in Dallas with all the traffic. Idk where you live, but if youre close to the DFW area there is a blogger Christmas meet up thing Dec 1st and I coukd give you more details if you're interested. :)

Oh my word!! I had NO idea that you were at MY Ikea?! I seriously live just down the road from there!

Who knew that when I was giving you advice about what to do in Ikea, I was giving you advice about the one I frequent? :)

And yes, 5'O Clock traffic is always horrible. Always. But I spend a lot of time in those shopping areas...I'm spoiled ;)
