I've never been the type of person that enjoys outdoor work like gardening, but I have to say that ever since we planted our rose bushes back in May, I can't stay away from the flower beds.
It's magical seeing something that you planted grow and thrive.
This is how we started...
...and this is where we are now!
Maybe it's just my super pregnant hormones, but this almost makes me tear up. It's like comparing it to the sweet little girl growing in my belly.
Okay, I obviously shouldn't be talking out loud today.

They are beautiful!! Great job mama!!
Your rose bushes look so great!!!
want to come plant things at my house? I have a black thumb but yours look great!
hahahah your last comment. i LOLed.
I agree! I planted a huge flower garden when we first bought out house, and it was very successful. Best feeling! The garden took a backseat when our son came along but I was thinking of picking it back up in the spring!
Knockout roses are so awesome! They get so big so fast! They are so pretty!
Hhahahaha!!!! That was so funny!!!!! And they are huge!!!!!! How gorgeous!!!! I totally get the relation between your landscaping and your baby!!!!! :))))
aw, that's so sweet! I know what you mean though. Our new house has amazing gardens and I was shocked how much I actually enjoyed working out there in it. I'm super excited for Spring so I can see just how beautiful it all is. I know we have a ton of lilies which I can't wait to see bloom!
What an amazing analogy! So pretty!
Your flowers look beautiful!
AHAHAHA. This was hilarious to me. I totally get why it makes you emotional. The "Obviously, I shouldn't be talking out loud today" is what got me. :)
You're going to be the best, most tender momma.
Aw, I definitely understand.
I tried gardening for the first time this year and it was such an awesome feeling to see the things I had planted start growing!
HAHA! I love it! Those are beautiful and I totally get why you're so proud of them and of course of the little one! :)
Pretttttty! Do you ever clip them & put them in your house? My flowers never do that well, so when I have blooms there aren't enough of them to clip any without making the plant look dumb, haha.
I don't have much of a green thumb so I'm always super excited when something I plant actually grows. I'm even more excited if I actually keep it alive! Your roses are beautiful!
I need to plant some roses. I had some at our previous house but not at this one.
Your rose bushes are beautiful...and I'm not pregnant, nor am I a huge gardener, but I can still understand getting a little emotional about successfully growing something like that!
Those are gorgeous! Good job.. I kill plants, haha!
I ADORE rose bushes. If we ever have a permanent home roses are the first thing I'm planting!
WOW! They look great!
Yay! I love when things grow that you personally plant! No bigger accomplishment.

SO PRETTY- almost as pretty as the baby growing in your belly;-)
You know you're uber-pregnant when you tear up over rose bushes:-) Been there, done that! (or at least over an oreo commercial or two) xoxo
Okay...maybe I should be talking out loud today...HAHA!
Great metaphor my friend :)
wow! they look great!
Awww, it's totally ok! I'm not pregnant and I get a little teary when I see my garden and my flowers. There's something really magical about growing your own stuff!
Wow! Quite the green thumb that you have. Such an amazing accomplishment to see something thrieving like that.
Absolutely beautiful! The color suits you too :) I was just thinking how they were a metaphor for sweet baby Emory but then you pointed it out and I didn't have to :)
Cute! Yay for pink roses! :)
You're so funny, Megan.
Those roses are gorgeous! I love watching my flowers grow, too. But orchids? No. I'm an orchid killer. If I didn't have three kids who fall into everything and a dog that eats anything, I'd grow roses, too.
(And yes, it may be your hormones. Love the post anyway.) ;)
Hahaha... "I obviously shouldn't be talking out loud today". Megan, you're the sweetest. I think you should talk out loud when you have these kinds of thoughts, because we probably all can use a little more happiness in our lives. (:
I'm not pregnant, and I really enjoy growing things. It is amazing watching what you've planted grow and thrive.
I love working in the yard. Knockout roses were a great choice. They grow sooo good!
gorgeous!! and i LOVE that analogy - it's perfect and so sweet :)
